Summary: The planning of viable areas for the implantation of forests under a fostering regime makes it possible to reduce the costs of forest production, maximize financial returns and optimize the use of resources, which makes it crucial for the technical and financial viability of the enterprise. For this, mathematical techniques have been shown to be efficient. Thus, the aim with the research was to propose a new approach for the definition of potential areas for the implementation of forest development programs by companies in the Espírito Santo state, Brazil. The methodological steps necessary to achieve this objective were: 1) Edaphoclimatic zoning of different forest genetic materials; 2) Vectoring of the variables; 3) Application of the Euclidean distance; 4) Application of Fuzzy logic; 5) Fuzzy overlapping of the prospecting areas for the implementation of forest development programs; and 6) Delimitation of the radius of influence of transport for each of the wood deposits. Among genetic materials presented the highest percentage values for the optimal class (37.84%), followed by Eucalyptus urophylla (33.29%), Eucalyptus grandis (31.80%) and Corymbia citriodora (29.48%). Fuzzyficate zoning enabled the prospecting of suitable areas for implementing forestry promotion programs, assisting companies in the sector in planning the definition of new rural properties, by reducing costs with displacing employees and increasing negotiating power. Therefore, it is concluded that the proposed planning alternative is feasible and can be adapted to other areas, and agricultural crops.
